Kinsley
This is Kinsley. In these pictures, she was just 8 days old. Oh, how babies steal my heart! Kinsley is the newest baby girl of the Huston's. If you have seen my business card, then you have seen their family. =)
When I first met her, she was still having a nap. So I did what any normal person would do: I sat down next to her and watched her sleep, breathing in her newborn sweetness from afar. Then I started snapping pictures.
While she finished her nap, I walked around the house. I saw some beautiful flowers ...
... and some adorable giraffe footy pajamas.
And then this cute kiddo arrived. Callan was sent downstairs by his dad in hopes that his mom would know where his special "Big Brother" shirt was.
After everyone was assembled on the sofa by the window, we hurried to snag a family portrait before the sun hid behind the clouds completely.
We tried one with flash, too.
What can I say? A simple family portrait gets complicated with four people!
And then, after this, we had a Kinsley Christmas shoot.
My heart could barely handle looking at those precious little feet.

Big brother Callan snuck over to say, "Cheese" all on his own. I guess he wanted some paparazzi time!
Back to Kinsley:
She wasn't too fond of the green ribbon. Poor girlie.

And look what Santa left under the tree a little early for their family. ;)
Thanks, Hustons, for letting me come and rejoice with you over your newest addition!
Wethje Family
Ahh, the Wethje family. I've known this family since before the five kids were all married. Now, all five Wethje kids are married, and there are three grandkids! They are a wonderful family, and they -- even the guys who weren't too excited about doing a picture -- were great sports. The goal was to get one good family picture. I think we might have gotten two!
While the grown-ups were getting together, we had some time with the grandkids.
Left to right, it's Cole, Timothy, and his sister Katie.
And Katie was cracking up over Timothy's gradual fall onto her shoulder.
Here's one of just Timothy.
And one of Cole. (Katie wasn't interested in sitting on the sofa any longer than she had to sit there.)
Soon after, we went for the group photo. We went outside second.
Though we started inside first, I wanted to show you this picture last. It's my favorite.
I had a great time! Thanks, Wethje family!
Walsh Family
I finally have my latest photo shoot with the Walsh family posted! We did the photo shoot at Christine, Dave, and and their daughter Julia's home, and I was welcomed instantly. I love that "we've-been-friends-for-a-long-time" feeling you just get with some people. :)
But enough. You didn't come for my words. You came for the pictures!
May I present to you ... the Walsh family! Left to Right: Christine, Julia, and David.

Check out her cute shoes.
Kisses.
I love how Julia's smile lights up her WHOLE face.
And how her eyes look really amazing in black and white, too.

During our photo shoot in their backyard, Christine snuck inside for something. Julia totally noticed, and these were her lit-up-with-joy faces when she saw her mommy coming back outside. Doesn't it melt your heart?

See what's in the foreground?
Mhm. It's a chicken. Some kids have puppy dogs; others have teddy bears; Julia got attached to a chicken. I love it! And she does, too.
That's how we got some of the rest of the grins even after Julia was tired from her modeling.
I was holding Julia at this point. And Dave and Christine were still in the "make-Julia-smile" mode. I had to remind them to just make themselves smile. It was adorable.
Sadly, they don't know how to have any fun together. (wink)

Before we wrapped up our photo shoot, Julia got to explore their piano for the first time. She was super hesitant at first, but then played as if she'd be the next Mozart or Beethoven. Look at the focused expression on her face!

Pier Family
On a sunshine-y (albeit a bit chilly) autumn Monday morning, I made my way to meet a family of six. I've known Shauna and Matt since before they were married; Shauna and I taught at the same school together for a year. Then we both had kiddos right around our first wedding anniversaries. Since then, they've added two more children to their family. Want to "meet" them?
I love this one because almost everyone's smiling. [L to R: Jason, Madison, Carson, Samantha (a.k.a. Sam).]
But Carson has this ROARING laugh and smile when he gets happy. It's adorable.
Carson has amazingly blue eyes (so does Jason, actually). They turn out so clear in pictures, even in black and white.
And here are all three littles:
This is my favorite picture for so many reasons: Madison's expression, the lovely light, her cascading curls, the autumn-leaves bokeh (the light circles in the blurry background). ::sigh of happiness::
Because I love it so much, here it is in black and white, too!
Matt, Shauna, and Sam were doing some funny things behind me to elicit these cute grins.
And here's Sam all on her own.
A sweet moment between Madison and Jason:
And then with Sam and Carson:
Jason all on his own.
The three littles enjoyed kicking the leaves that covered these steps.
All four kids did a great job, but at the end we could only pull some modeling poses out of the two older ones. I think it's sweet, though, that we managed to snag a sisters shot.
Here's the slideshow of all the pictures!
